Tsunami

A tsunami is a series of ocean waves with very long wavelengths (typically hundreds of kilometres) caused by large-scale disturbances of the ocean, such as:
  • earthquakes
  • landslide
  • volcanic eruptions
  • explosions
  • meteorites

An earthquake is a sudden shaking of the Earth's surface caused by rock breakage deep within the Earth. This is the result of stresses that have built up within the Earth's brittle crust.
